What's Going On....

Friday...
On Friday, Rod let me leave work a little early so that I could get home and watch Trevor. Jordan was going on a date with Jason and needed to leave home before Gena or I were going to be there. Thanks, Rod, it worked out wonderfully. At 5:30pm Trevor and I headed to baseball practice, and to pick up Gena who had just arrived back at the High School after a day of UIL competition in Edna (I think). After baseball practice we planned to meet some friends at the bowling alley but needed to stop and pick up some socks for Gena to wear. We stopped at Walgreens and I found a delightfully ugly Hawaiian shirt (bright red) to wear. Too bad we didn't get any pictures of that adventure. After stinking up the bowling lane with what was about the lousiest exhibition of bowling ever, we headed back to our house for a few more hours of fun. We played cards and dice until Jordan was back from her date, which was really late even though she had to get up Saturday morning for her SAT test in Bay City. Tiffany, Todd, Bret, Gena and I played a stupid solitaire game which they called SOCs or something like that. We ended up playing seven of those stupid solitaire games. I won once, Gena won once and Tiffany won the rest. Then we played the stupid 8 game...I think it is called Idiot Bridge, but I prefer the stupid 8 game. I think we only played that one once and Todd was the winner. And finally we broke out the $10/each Long-old-booger basket dice to play the stupid dice game, which is also known as "Oh $h1#!" in some circles. I was the last to break on to the scoreboard, and I believe I was about 4000 points behind when I finally did score my first points, but since I love to come from behind, I crossed the finish line of 10,000 point first and finished the night on a winning note. Yeah me!

Saturday...
Early Saturday morning I sprung right out of bed at the sound of my alarm and cheerfully awakened Jordan so that she could get to her SATs on time...OK, I reluctantly crawled from under my warm comforter after slapping the snooze button repeatedly to stumble into Jordan's room and bug her until she sluggishly strayed to the bathroom to get ready to drive to her SATs. Either way however, I then went back to bed, ha. At 9:30am I had to be at the church for Praise Team practice, so I dropped Gena off at the High School cafeteria where she was organizing the entertainment for Saturday Night's Senior Serve, and Trevor and I went on to the church. After practice we joined Gena at the cafeteria, and since I was to perform during the Senior Serve, I also needed to check the mic volume for my song. Unfortunately I didn't have the sound CD yet and so I just sand a few lines and went on with helping to set up the tables and the projector for the slideshow, which Gena and I still had to prepare for that evening. yadda yadda yadda, long story shortened a bit... We finished the slideshow, found some music for me to sing to and got ready for the Senior Serve, but not soon enough for me to practice with the music before the guests started to arrice, as a matter of fact, the cafeteria was at least half full when we arrived so I started to set up the laptop for the slideshow. We were seated at Jeryca's table and I picked on her incessantly as she waited on us, but that was to be expected as I also picked on the kids who weren't waiting our table by asking them to steal appetizers and desserts and bring them to our table...thanks Adam for the stuffed jalapenos. Our table still had not been served when they announced that they had run out of food....bummer. We had to wait as someone drove to Bay City and picked up some more meat, at a drive through I guess. I ended up with brisket, but didn't eat much since I was performing in a few minutes. Oh well...I ate, took pictures, started the slideshow, sang horribly and a good time was had by all, ha. We then went back to our house with the same friends as Friday night and played the stupid solitaire game, the stupid 8 game and the stupid dice game...groovy. Oh, and Jo had some friends over too, but they didn't play games with the old folks, they just sat in the living room and made fun of us, ha. We stayed up way late and finally moved our clocks forward and collapsed in bed.

Sunday...
I once again crawled out of bed, got ready for church, went to church and sang with the Praise Team, went back home and picked up Gena and Jordan, went to my parents house for lunch, yadda...yadda...yadda... I know, it's too late to make this long story anything but a long story, but don't worry this is where it ends... Went to bed. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
