Van Vleck's One Act Play this year is, "The Gut Girls." Jordan has a leading role as Lady Helena, a well-off do-gooder trying to civilize a group of working-class girls who work in a gut shed preparing beef for the market. I attended the District competition yesterday and was able to watch all six schools perform. The Gut Girls was wonderful and they advanced to the next level with six of their actors winning individual awards, but the best news is that Jordan was named the best actress in the entire district! Jordan has grown so much since her shy elementary days. I remember her as Henrietta Hen..."too much red." She was so cute. I am very proud of her. She has overcome fears as a teenager that I had well into my adult life. So Jordan, we are more alike than you know, and I want you to know that I am so proud of you every day, not just when you win awards.

BEST ACTRESS! When they announced her name, a wave of emotions burst from within me and tears welled up in my eyes. I almost forgot to take any pictures, but composed myself before Jordan even broke away from the hugs of her friends. Her mom was so excited she screamed and they hugged before Jordan joined the other actors on stage. The entire moment only lasted a few minutes but it was a long time coming for my little princess. I hope it helps to give her the confidence she deserves. Love ya, Jo!

Good job Jo Jo!!! I am sure that you really deserved that award. You have turned out to be quite the young lady, and I too remeber the shy kid you used to be:)
